Symbol: Islamic Solidarity

The Conference of Islamic Solidarity was held in Mecca and sponsored by Saudi Arabia to initiate cultural exchanges between Islamic states. The symbol was formed out of six crescents to represent the six Muslim countries who took part. The configuration is also reminiscent of the band used in  Arab headdress.
